We are pleased to announce that the Maitland Trail is now fully reopened, and all sections are accessible for your hiking enjoyment.
Recently, we temporarily closed the trail between KM markers 20 and 25 due to reports of aggressive coyote encounters near Cherrydale. The safety of all trail users is our top priority.
While the trail is now open, it's important to stay aware that coyotes are still present in the area. Fortunately, there have been no further reports of aggressive behavior. To ensure everyone's safety, we remind you that dogs must always be kept on a leash while on the trail.
We appreciate your patience and understanding during this period of closure. Your cooperation helped us maintain a safe environment for everyone. As always, please stay vigilant, follow any posted guidelines, and check the Trail Conditions page on the Maitland Trail Association website before setting out.
Thank you for your continued support, and we wish you safe and happy hiking on the Maitland Trail!
