Many of our volunteers shared that they were simply happy to be a small part of the event, but we know the truth: you are not a small part at all. This hike could not happen without every single one of you!

This year’s Camino brought together 291 registered hikers in just five weeks. Our youngest participant was just 7 years old, and our oldest 83 - and both completed the full hike!

Hikers came from as far as Manitoba and Michigan, with the majority ranging between 50 and 70 years of age. The Camino is the Maitland Trail Association’s only fundraiser, helping us maintain and grow our trails. This support covers projects like new boardwalks (the most recent costing $3,200), infrastructure improvements such as Sharpe’s Creek bridge on the G2G, and updated signage that encourages good trail etiquette.

Be sure to visit the Maitland Trail Association (MTA) Facebook page to see photos and read comments from this year’s event.

A special thank you goes out to our generous supporters:

CrossFit Goderich

Maitland Market & Supply

Culligan Water (Goderich)

Zehrs

Part II Bistro

Wuerth’s Shoes (Goderich)

Your donations of time, energy, and resources create the community spirit that brings the Camino to life each year. From all of us at the Maitland Trail Association and the Camino Committee a huge thank you to our supporters, volunteers, and hikers for being such an essential part of the journey.
