About the event
Sunday | July 14 | 9:30 AM | Cycle
Cycle - Pinery Provincial Park. Ride Details: Start at parking lot at Lambton Museum on Hwy 21, about 1⁄2 km north the park gates to bike the Savanna Trail. The trail winds north through Oak Savanna. The trail crosses the main road at the traffic circle, follows the Old Ausable Channel and joins the Day Use Road. The right lane of the road is designated one-way for motorized vehicles, and the Savanna Trail uses the left lane for bicycle and foot travel. Please watch out for car traffic using the left side of the road. After an hour plan on a rest stop or sooner as needed or to view the lake scenery.
Registration: For more information and to confirm your attendance, please call or text Donald Andrew at 519 530-9019 or Gena Lowe at glowe@maitlandtrail.ca.
Level: Easy. This 14 km trail follows a wooded path in a loop around half of the park. Savanna trail is mostly paved, with some gravel sections, and follows the path of the eastern one-way road to several beach areas and walking trails.
This is an easy ride on level ground. However, participants should use a bike in good working condition that they are comfortable riding on varied terrain for 14 kms (2 hours). Helmets mandatory.
