About Us
The Maitland Trail Association (MTA), a non-profit, volunteer-driven organization, was established on July 2, 1975, with the vision of creating a trail that follows the picturesque Maitland River. Today, our dedicated volunteers maintain over 80 kilometers of marked hiking trails, offering hikers and nature enthusiasts the chance to explore the beauty of the Maitland River Valley. Our mission is to ensure a safe and enjoyable hiking experience for all while educating visitors about the area's rich natural and cultural history. Our volunteers work tirelessly to preserve both the trails and their surrounding ecosystems.
Join us in safeguarding this natural treasure for generations to come.
