About Us
The Maitland Trail Association (MTA) is a non-profit, volunteer-led organization that was formed on July 2, 1975 with a proposal to build a trail that would follow the path of the Maitland River. Today, our dedicated volunteers maintain over 80 kilometers of blazed hiking trails providing opportunities for hikers and nature enthusiasts to experience the beauty of the Maitland River Valley. Our mission is to provide a safe and enjoyable hiking experience for all, while also educating visitors about the natural and cultural history of the area. Our volunteers work tirelessly to maintain the trails and their surrounding ecosystem.
