Geocaching is a real-world, outdoor treasure hunt using GPS-enabled devices. Players navigate to a specific set of coordinates and then attempt to find the geocache hidden at that location.
There are dozens of geocaches along the Maitland Trail and throughout the surrounding area.
To get the details for each geocache, go to the geocaching website and register for free. Then use the map tool to find geocaches anywhere in the world. If you’re new to it, answers are provided for all the common questions. And, there are lots of videos to help you get started. Think you’d like to try Creative Geocaching? Or Extreme Geocaching? Wow – this one is in German but so cool! Do not try this unless you are an experienced climber!!
A Maitland Trail Guide will help you navigate the trails around here.
